Mr Henneman in action!

A website for teachers and students, which provides guidance on how to improve literary and language skills.  I gradually add more study guides, worksheets and questions on texts,  close textual analysis of texts and sample essays with commentaries.

Please note that some pages may not have the latest exam board requirements: question types and assessment objectives must be checked.

The webpages are based on my own teaching notes as well as those of other contributors.  I welcome the submission of new material and the correction of errors and omissions.  I cannot pay for publication and this is a not-for-profit site.  However, I will ensure you will be given credit for your work and your copyright will be secured by Creative Commons.  Student contributions are welcome, whether it be essays, research, notes etc.  I do, of course, retain editorial control to maintain standards but no changes are made without contributors’ approval.  Do join me in sharing your work with a wider audience.

Whether you are teaching or studying, these pages should be relevant as they explore how meaning is created.  The material is of variable quality and ranges from preliminary lists to in-depth analysis and exegesis.  As time goes by, improvements are being made.

The work is copyrighted.  The material may be used by individuals if for no financial benefit, on the understanding that due credit on any photocopying etc. is given to me and this website.  These notes go back many years – so much time has been invested in them.   Some bibliographical internet acknowledgements may no longer be accessible – also, I am aware that my acknowledgement of sources is a touch erratic: many apologies if this applies to your work and please advise me of errors or omissions.  Bibliographical acknowledgements will appear on a main page and/or a sub-page.

Happy reading

Philip Henneman
